Antarcticaand also thats only any% runs. Most people maybe don't want to run any% (crazy as that may seem). But total there are 1,019 players. And the people above me have great points, it is a huge time commitment to take the time in order to get good at something. Most people probably don't have that free time to spend on speedrunning.
Now I mean personally, I don't think, no matter the amount, that I would take this. I feel that after maybe the first week of practicing endlessly to just learn the tricks that it would become boring quickly. And then I would no longer be able to "seriously" do runs for it anymore. Just considering the precision of the tricks. 3 Traditional Sockfolder FPGs, 8-1 FPG (accel + mavpole), Either 4-2 or 8-2 Framerule (Both are insane in their own respective ways) and to top it off, an amazing 8-4. Yeah, too much for me.
But are you saying the bounty is just for grinding? Will I get X-amount of money if I just turn on my console and like start practicing stuff, and then attempting to incorporate those strats in runs? Is that your definition of grinding the game? What, in your mind, is seriously grinding? Or is the Bounty collected when you achieve a 4:54?

Yeah, Elevators work in strange ways. If you look at Kosmic's Warpless WR, in 3-3 you can jump through a platform. It's essentially what happened here, except you were moving downward (which is actually a lot rarer, but possible).
No. Doing FPG actually causes you to grab the flagpole 6 frames later than intended. This means that you are 1 frame away from the timer being a 244. So the frame you grab the flag it becomes 243.

He was asking about a perfect plant jump and perfect BBG, how many frames would you have saved the optimal framerule by? In theory, you could still save the lightning 8-2 framerule in RTA. If he means without a fast accel in the beginning then you would save it by 18 frames, since absolute perfect RTA fast accel saves 3 frames.
The Optimal BBG in the TAS saves the framerule by a frame or 2.

I would assume the timing ends the frame you are jumping on your tenth walljump. But I may be incorrect. A mod can correct me if I am wrong.
but have you guys even looked at the inputs? he does some random inputs, in the exact same order, and seems to let go of them frame perfectly and then nearly the exact same inputs in 4-1. It doesn't make any sense how someone could be the exact same, unless this was tool assisted.

The thing im most interested in, is what controller does Warped use? Keyboard? Some Other USB Controller? this could also help us determine whether this run would be fake. Considering if it was a USB controller with a Pivot in the center then it would be a lot harder to do those inputs.
Nothing is illegitimate about the run. A runner can't say "My run is fake" when nothing is invalidating the rules. That's like me saying "welp guys, my 4:57 was fake this whole time... It was a TASed run.. sorry." (my 4:57 is actually a real run, making a point) Yeah, it's up to him if he wishes to submit it. But he should be lying and saying "Yeah my run is invalidated" When in reality, it's not.
