We, as humanity, are extremely lucky that we can live on this planet in the first place. Even thought we don't see it happening, the Earth rotates every 23 hours and 56 minutes with a speed of 460 meters per second, or roughly 1600 km/h. To put it into perspective, a regular commercial flight plane only travels with an average speed of 1000 km/h. Now the reason why I say we are insanely lucky to be alive is because, ever since the universe' and Planet Earth's creation roughly 4.5 billion years ago, the Earth has never stopped rotating or slowed down/ sped up for even a single millisecond. Had it stopped for the tiniest amount of time possible, we would have inherited that 1600 km/h speed and we would all crash into the nearest buildings and die instantly.

day 14 (two weeks @SioN u were wrong): The term "black box" used to refer to the flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder on an aircraft is a misnomer. These devices are actually painted bright orange to help locate them in the event of a crash.
