Is there any alternative to YouTube for uploading speedruns?

So far I've been uploading all my runs on my YT channel. I had no issues with that. I'm definitely keeping them on the channel. But there is an issue. YouTube seems to be pretty aggressive with anti-adblocking. And sure, I do have uBlock Origin which works nevertheless. But I don't think I tried using it on YT while being logged in on my account. You could call me dumb, but I was actually worried YT would ban my account for using an adblocker. And that'd mean all the runs would be lost. At the same time though I'd really want to upload videos from my Mac as I use it to record the speedruns from X360 games. Yet I don't feel like disabling an adblocker on YT, hell nah. And I don't think YT app exists on Mac. Thus I've been looking for some alternatives. Twitch would be ideal if it wasn't for a fact I'd have to have some livestreams to meet the requirements to even be able to upload videos there. And since my first livestream was awful, I requested my account deletion. I looked for some alternatives, but they were either not good enough for the "free plan" users, were decentralized, had too much to do with cryptocurrencies or straight-up had too controversial content. I know some would say speedruns uploaded to Google Drive would be accepted as well (or at least in most cases), but I don't want to use too much of it for speedrunning. 15 GB isn't too much and could be used for much important stuff. Am I actually stuck at YouTube? Aren't there any alternatives? Also, if you want to recommend me any alternative, it better not be Odysee.

I don't think they'd ban your account, they'd only stop the video playback.

Also, if you're scared of them finding out you have an ad blocker - then use an ad blocker that has bypasses YouTube's detection

Or just stop watching YouTube when it gives you the first warning

If YouTube banned people for using ad blockers they'd lose half their user base overnight.

Anyway, regarding alternatives, frankly most other video hosting sites are either straight garbage or unreliable. The rest are both. YouTube has just always been the best option.

You can alternatively use Medal.tv or Insights.gg for video uploading.

You can use anything to send your video ( e.g. Google drive, twitter, discord, etc. ) depending on the game you want to run but the best opitions are Youtube and twitch

@CrypticGamingTV_ are you sure those are safe? I never heard of them or used them but those sites sound kinda shady

@GeometryDashFan These are safe and verified sites. Medal.tv is wildly used in the FiveM community. It also has options to unpublish a video so that it isn't shared publicly. Insights.gg is a capturing software that also allows publishing of videos or you can use the library provided to upload your videos from.

@GeometryDashFan This is a new account that joined to post about those two sites, so I would take their recommendation with a grain of salt.

@Pear I may have a new account on SRC however these two sites are used quite a lot and I am in no way affiliated with either. Do not try and undermine my assistance, thanks.

Medal has a 2 minute upload limit. For $10 a month you can increase it to... 10 minutes. Lol. Insights isn't much better, you only get 5gb without paying their absurdly expensive monthly subscription. You should probably look into the limitations of these things before recommending them to people, there's plenty of random alternatives but none of them can afford to seriously compete with Google, and thus have major compromises. I also expect a lot of these to disappear in the coming months/years when they inevitably run out of venture capital money.

Said it before and I'll say it again. Everything else is garbage. Just use YouTube.

My YouTube channel has a different name to this so would my speedruns be accepted still?

@bailey1999b As long as you can prove that the account is yours if any issues come up the future, that isn't a problem.

@ShikenNuggets thank you for your response, shouldn’t be an issue for that my gamertag is the same as this anyway.

I'm uploading to youtube, but I'm only granting access via link, not to the public. It seems like they're the only ones without data volume restrictions for now.

@Glaasketta, that's fine to submit runs with.

But I'm not sure what you mean by this part

I found a Twitch speedrun link from 2013 and it still works. Stream from Twitch, else broadcast your precorded video then make a clip of it. The clip will last I want to say forever.

Not saying Twitch is better for YouTube but it's another valid option without data restrictions. Maybe 1/3 of the runs of games I follow use Twitch links.

You can also pay for your own hosting plan, which isn't too much in this day and age. I used to store mp3's on my own hosting plan for my MySpace (lol).

Highlight the trimmed run, not clip btw.
